Disappointment

Today I learned some news that sent my heart into a valley of disappointment. Aaron McGruder has cancelled his speaking appearance at the Byham Therater in the Pittsburgh. This news is saddening because I wanted to get a chance to see one of the most incisive satirists of this age. Even if the evening had provided no new insights into the mind of the creator of The Boondocks, I simply wanted to hear him speak in person. It would have given me something to write about in this blog, at least, and it would have allowed me an opportunity to be in the presence of a great writer who was able to bring his vision to life. It seems, though, it was not meant to be, and I will spend Saturday night all alone, once again.
